Dr. Ooi Boon Hong graduated from Manipal University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS degree in 2008. He then pursued his specialization training in Orthopaedic and traumatology at the University of Malaya and obtained his MS Orth qualification in 2017.
He has been fully registered under the Malaysian Medical Council since July 2010, the Ministry of Health Malaysia, and the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia’s National Specialist Register.

He started his medical career in Hospital Palau Pinang and continued his service as an orthopedic trainee at University Malaya Medical Centre. He then served as an Orthopaedic specialist in Hospital Sultan Ismail, Johor Bahru where he treated a wide range of orthopedic conditions.
In his years of service in the government hospital, he has gained tremendous experience managing orthopedic conditions and patient care. He was also attached to numerous orthopedic clinics locally and abroad, which enriched his experience and knowledge in providing more comprehensive orthopedic care for patients.
Dr. Ooi has special interest in managing sports-related injuries ranging from non-operative management to performing surgical procedures like arthroscopic surgery for those suffering from sports-related injuries. He is active in various sporting activities such as football, badminton, golf, swimming, etc. His passion is to bring a holistic and comprehensive treatment in orthopedic wellness to the community, making orthopedic healthcare more accessible and relatable to the general population. Being a pleasant and humble individual, he has excellent doctor-patient relationships with his patients.
